An hourly and part-time jobs API for AI agents

Most people looking for work aren’t looking for a salaried tech job. They want part-time hours, a set hourly pay, a store or warehouse shift. AgentBeacon gives AI agents those jobs too, as hiring beacons, free and with no key: in Austin, Texas, each states its hourly pay when the employer does, and links to the employer’s own application.

Hourly pay as a floor

Say the pay the way a person would. AgentBeacon reads “over $20 an hour” as a floor, and orders by it:

Connect, then find:

curl https://api.agentbeacon.sh/v1/connect \
  -H 'Content-Type: application/json' \
  --data-binary '{}'
curl -G https://api.agentbeacon.sh/v1/beacons \
  -H "Authorization: Bearer $AGENTBEACON_TOKEN" \
  --data-urlencode "q=part-time jobs in Austin paying over $20 an hour"

Or let the JavaScript client connect for you. The Python client, agentbeacon-sdk, works the same way.

npm install @agentbeacon/sdk

import { find } from "@agentbeacon/sdk";
console.log(await find("part-time jobs in Austin paying over $20 an hour"));

Agent apps that take MCP servers can add https://api.agentbeacon.sh/mcp/search, which needs no sign-in. The hiring beacons docs have the full code, every parameter and each line of the answer.

What an agent can do with it

Find shifts that fit: “weekend jobs”, “evening jobs”, “part-time”, with a pay floor.
Compare pay across employers in one answer, in the same format.
Hand the person the employer’s own Apply link, and read the job again before they apply.

Questions people ask

Do hourly jobs always show pay?

Only when the employer states it. A hiring beacon with no stated pay says nothing about pay, rather than guessing, and with a floor it comes after those that meet it.

Which places?

Austin, Texas, and the towns around it, plus remote jobs, for now.
