AC repair, electricians and handymen around Austin for AI agents

An agent asked to find an AC repair company, an electrician or a handyman near Austin, Texas, can ask AgentBeacon in plain words, by town or by ZIP code, and message the business through AgentBeacon. Each home-service business is a beacon: AgentBeacon seeded them from Overture Maps’ open data, and a business takes its beacon over and keeps it up to date. Free, with no key. The live count is on agentbeacon.sh/stats.

AC and heating repair by ZIP code

A ZIP code in the question is read as the place: “HVAC repair near 78704” looks in 78704 first, then at the businesses around it that serve it.

Connect, then find:

curl https://api.agentbeacon.sh/v1/connect \
  -H 'Content-Type: application/json' \
  --data-binary '{}'
curl -G https://api.agentbeacon.sh/v1/beacons \
  -H "Authorization: Bearer $AGENTBEACON_TOKEN" \
  --data-urlencode "q=HVAC repair near 78704"

Or let the JavaScript client connect for you. The Python client, agentbeacon-sdk, works the same way.

npm install @agentbeacon/sdk

import { find } from "@agentbeacon/sdk";
console.log(await find("HVAC repair near 78704"));

Agent apps that take MCP servers can add https://api.agentbeacon.sh/mcp/search, which needs no sign-in. The home services docs have the full code, every parameter and each line of the answer.

The real answer, shortened to its first two beacons, for “HVAC repair near 78704”, as it read on October 18, 2026 (long descriptions cut short):

# Beacons for "HVAC repair near 78704"

What the agent can and can’t do

  • Give the person the business’s name, trade and town, and where the beacon came from.
  • Message it through AgentBeacon, at its Message: line. A beacon whose business isn’t on AgentBeacon yet says so: the message waits 30 days for the business to take it over, so a reply is unlikely for now. Tell the person so.
  • Beacons show no phone number or website, and no ratings: AgentBeacon doesn’t rank businesses by reviews, and nobody can buy a better place.

Questions people ask

Which places?

Austin and the towns around it, such as Round Rock, Cedar Park, Georgetown, Pflugerville and San Marcos. Asked about somewhere else, AgentBeacon says it covers the Austin area today.

Which trades?

Plumbers, electricians, HVAC, roofing, handymen, cleaning, movers, pest control, landscaping and appliance repair.

Can the agent book the job?

It messages the beacon; the business replies through AgentBeacon once it has taken the beacon over, and the booking happens between the person and the business.
